Frequently Asked Questions
Back again with another windshield repair blog post. This one is specifically about the frequently asked questions I receive in regards to my company, Dynamo Windshield Repair.
- Where are you located?
We’re a convenient mobile service that is available anywhere in Edmonton, Alberta and the surrounding area. Simply put, we come to you. (This one gets asked A LOT)
- Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Dynamo Windshield Repair is by appointment only. You can call us during regular business hours or book an appointment online anytime.
- How much does this cost?
Our prices depend on the amount of chips you have. One windshield chip repair (maximum of 1 inch in diameter) starts as low as $40 and it’s only $10 for each additional chip on the same windshield. Windshield crack repairs start at $65. If you run your own business, you’ll hear this quite often.
- How long does it take?
Most windshield chip repairs will take about 15-30 minutes, depending on the damage to your windshield. Windshield crack repairs will take longer, typically 30-90 minutes. It’s not very long, if you think about it.
- What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are closed on statutory holidays. If you’re just starting up, it’s good to let people know when you’re open for business!
- Will the windshield chip disappear?
No. Depending on the damage, the windshield chip repair will improve visual appearances anywhere from 50% to 80%. One of the most common questions you’ll hear in the windshield chip repair industry. Not sure who started telling people that the chips would completely disappear…
- What is your chip repair warranty?
We offer a Lifetime Warranty on all windshield chip repairs. In the rare case that our repair fails, we have you covered. We will provide a new repair whenever possible, at no charge. If this is not possible, we will issue a full refund up to the full value of the chip repair. (Windshield crack repairs are excluded from refunds) If you’re just starting out in the windshield repair industry, I strongly suggest you warranty your work. It gives customers a peace of mind.
- Can my windshield chip be repaired?
We can repair most rock chips up to the size of a toonie or approximately 1 inch in diameter. If you have a windshield crack that is less than 8 inches long, we can repair that as well. There’s some windshield chips that just aren’t worth your time. Work smarter, not harder!
- Do you replace windshields?
Unfortunately, we do not replace windshields or any other types of auto glass at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you’re a repair only service, you will get asked this a lot. In my opinion, just be nice and tell them that you don’t replace windshields. Be prepared to have a reputable auto glass shop to mention to the customer, should they ask.
- What kind of tools do you use?
We use professional windshield repair equipment supplied from Delta Kits, based in the United States of America. I was trained on Delta Kits and will probably stay with them for life, should they continue to treat me well. To each their own. 🙂
- Do you guys come to me?
Yes! We offer a convenient mobile service that is available anywhere in Edmonton and the surrounding area. We’re open 7 days a week, all year long. If they aren’t asking where you’re located, they’re probably asking if you come to them. Best of both worlds!
- Can I book an appointment online?
Yes! Dynamo Windshield Repair offers an online booking feature making it even easier to get your windshield chips repaired. Click here to book an appointment. (If you’re in Edmonton, of course.) This is a simple one, in my opinion. Almost everything is online and easily clickable nowadays Why not make booking windshield chip repairs an online thing, too? That’s just me though. 😉
Thank you for reading my latest blog post. I hope my frequently asked questions helps you in your online research, whatever that may be! And if you somehow stumbled onto this blog and have no idea why you’re here… I’m happy that you stuck around until the end. 🙂
